The Nigeria Police Force says it has recorded major operational successes across several states, foiling kidnap attempts, rescuing victims, recovering stolen property and arresting suspects linked to various criminal activities.
In Imo State, police operatives rescued seven abducted victims unharmed after engaging suspected kidnappers in a gun battle. Two vehicles were also recovered as the suspects fled the scene.
In Ondo State, a joint security team rescued an intended kidnap victim, while spent AK-47 ammunition was recovered during the operation.
In Bayelsa State, police arrested a suspect over the alleged theft of government property valued at about ₦500 million.
In Katsina State, operatives foiled a cattle rustling attempt, arrested a suspected drug supplier to bandits and recovered 500 tablets of suspected illicit drugs.
Other operations led to the arrest of a homicide suspect in Gombe State, three suspects linked to fertilizer theft in Ekiti State, a suspected bandits’ informant in Sokoto State and an armed suspect in Akwa Ibom State, where a double-barrel firearm was recovered. Police also foiled a cattle rustling operation in Kano State.
Meanwhile, security operations are continuing in Bauchi, Niger, Kwara, Kebbi, Nasarawa and Ogun states as police intensify efforts to rescue kidnap victims, apprehend fleeing suspects and strengthen security across the country.
