Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and tackling insecurity across the state.
The governor gave the assurance during a meeting in Benin City with Okaighele from the seven local government areas of Edo South, security chiefs, vigilante groups and other community security stakeholders.
Okpebholo says security is a collective responsibility and urged community leaders and residents to provide credible information and report suspicious movements to security agencies.
He also outlined plans to strengthen emergency response, with distress calls expected to trigger the deployment of security personnel and vehicles within minutes.
Commissioner for Public Safety and Security, Festus Ebea, says the collaboration is aimed at strengthening efforts against cultism, kidnapping and other crimes, while creating a safer environment for investment and economic growth.
