Iran Vows to Keep Strait of Hormuz Closed Until US Ends Military Action

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have declared that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the United States ends what Tehran describes as its “acts of aggression,” escalating tensions in the Gulf amid ongoing military confrontation.

The Guards said the closure is part of Iran’s retaliatory measures following recent US strikes on Iranian territory, warning that other regional oil and gas export routes serving US and allied interests could also become targets.

“Oil and gas exports from the region will either be available for everyone or for no one,” the statement said.

The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategic maritime routes, is a major transit corridor for global oil and gas exports. The latest developments have heightened concerns over energy security and international shipping.

The United States has maintained that international shipping lanes should remain open and has rejected Iran’s claims of controlling navigation through the strait.
