Nigeria has secured the hosting rights for the 2027 African Beach Games, further strengthening its position as a destination for major international sporting events.
The National Sports Commission says the hosting rights were secured through its ongoing collaboration with the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), following the earlier agreement for Nigeria to host the second edition of the African School Games in 2027.
The African Beach Games will feature events including beach volleyball, beach handball, beach football and beach basketball, among other sports.
Announcing the development in Abuja, ANOCA President Mustapha Berraf said Nigeria’s recent reforms in the sports sector have positioned the country as an emerging leader in sports development across Africa.
