Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has called on the United Nations and international human rights organisations to investigate the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.
Makinde made the appeal while receiving the rescued victims in Ibadan, describing the circumstances surrounding the incident as grave and unusual.
The governor said an independent international investigation would help establish the facts and strengthen accountability.
The pupils and teachers were abducted on May 15 and were recently rescued before being received by the governor.
