Arsenal have agreed a £75 million deal with Newcastle United for captain Bruno Guimarães.
The Brazilian midfielder has been granted permission to travel for a medical ahead of completing the move to the Premier League champions.
Guimarães had informed Newcastle earlier this summer that he wanted to join Arsenal if an acceptable offer was received. Although Arsenal’s initial bid was rejected, both clubs have now reached an agreement.
The 28-year-old joined Newcastle from Lyon in 2022 for £40 million and made 195 appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals.
If the transfer is completed, Newcastle will have generated more than £240 million from player sales this summer.
