Arsenal F.C. were officially crowned champions of the English Premier League after lifting the trophy following a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace F.C. at Selhurst Park.
The title marks Arsenal’s first league triumph in 22 years under manager Mikel Arteta, whose side sealed the championship earlier in the week after second-placed Manchester City F.C. dropped points against Bournemouth.
Arsenal took the lead late in the first half through Gabriel Jesus before Noni Madueke doubled the advantage after the break. Crystal Palace pulled one back late in the game through Jean-Philippe Mateta, but the result did little to dampen the celebrations.
The victory capped a dominant league campaign for Arsenal, who finished seven points clear of Manchester City after recording 26 wins in 38 matches.
Following the final whistle, Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard lifted the Premier League trophy amid scenes of jubilation, with fireworks, confetti, and celebrations involving players, staff, and supporters.
Club owner Stan Kroenke and his son Josh joined the trophy presentation ceremony as fans sang club anthems and celebrated the historic achievement.
Arteta’s side will now shift focus to the UEFA Champions League Final, where they are set to face Paris Saint-Germain F.C. on May 30 in a bid to secure the club’s first-ever Champions League title.
The match also saw Arsenal youngster Max Dowman become the youngest player ever to start a Premier League match at 16 years and 144 days old.
