Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on members of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Door-to-Door Movement to promote national unity, patriotism and constructive civic engagement as they mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akpabio made the call during the inauguration of the movement’s national executive and the commissioning of campaign vehicles for nationwide grassroots mobilisation.
He said the movement should go beyond canvassing electoral support by inspiring hope, listening to citizens and strengthening public confidence in Nigeria’s democracy, stressing that politics should unite rather than divide the country.
The Senate President urged members to engage communities with respect and help build confidence in the nation’s future through responsible democratic participation.
Founder and sponsor of the movement, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, said the initiative was established to deepen grassroots mobilisation and encourage greater civic participation across the country.
He said the Tinubu administration’s economic and structural reforms were beginning to yield positive results, citing increased foreign investment, growth in the capital market and improved fiscal autonomy for sub-national governments.
Ekpemupolo described the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as a nationwide platform committed to supporting the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda through community engagement and democratic participation.
The event was attended by Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, governors, ministers, lawmakers, traditional rulers and business leaders.
