The Yobe State Police Command says it has recorded significant successes in its ongoing efforts to combat crime with the arrest of several suspects linked to theft, vandalism, violent attacks and drug-related offences across the state.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim.
According to the statement, police operatives carried out a series of intelligence-led operations that led to the arrest of suspects involved in various criminal activities in different parts of the state.
The command said stolen building materials, a motorcycle and an axe allegedly used in a violent assault were recovered during the operations.
It added that five suspects were also arrested during a raid on a criminal hideout in Nguru, where security operatives recovered items believed to be connected to criminal activities.
The police noted that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the suspects’ involvement and identify other members of the criminal networks.
The Commissioner of Police, Usman Kanfani Jibrin, commended the operatives for their efforts and directed the continuation of sustained operations against criminal elements across the state.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents.
The commissioner also urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could aid crime prevention and detection.
The Yobe State Police Command assured residents that it remains resolute in its determination to rid the state of criminal activities and maintain public safety.
