Umo Eno has assured members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State that the party’s primaries would be transparent, free, and fair.
The governor gave the assurance during a consultation visit to his local government area, Nsit Ubium, held at the residence of political leader Effiong Bob.
Eno stressed the need to sustain peace in the state before, during, and after the primaries, noting that Akwa Ibom has remained peaceful and should continue in that direction.
He commended the people of the area for their support and cooperation, especially for speaking with one voice ahead of the party primaries and the 2027 general elections.
“I consider it most expedient for me to see and notify my people officially of my intention to go for a second term as governor in the year 2027,” the governor said.

Governor Eno expressed confidence that the party primaries scheduled to begin on Friday, May 15, 2026, would be peaceful and hitch-free, given what he described as the calm political atmosphere in the state.
He urged party members to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the process and warned against sacrificing the peace of the state for personal or group interests.
The governor also appealed to party faithful to respect party leadership at all levels and actively participate in the primaries at their various ward centers.
Speaking during the event, Senator Effiong Bob praised the governor’s leadership and described his performance in office over the past three years as impactful.
Bob also commended the people of the area for their consistent support for quality leadership and governance.
