Flight operations across Air Peace’s network have been disrupted after a Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) baggage conveyor belt vehicle crashed into the engine of one of the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (MMA1) in Lagos.
The incident occurred shortly after Flight P47427 from Kano landed safely and passengers had disembarked.
Air Peace confirmed that the NAHCO-operated ground handling equipment struck the aircraft’s engine, rendering it completely unserviceable.
According to the airline, the damaged aircraft had been scheduled to operate several flights across its network in the coming days, resulting in delays and possible cancellations as fleet adjustments are made.
In a statement, the airline apologised to affected passengers and assured them that its operations and customer service teams are working to minimise disruptions by providing available alternatives and necessary assistance.
Air Peace also said it is collaborating with NAHCO and relevant aviation authorities to investigate the incident and prevent a recurrence.
The airline reaffirmed that the safety of its passengers, crew, and equipment remains its highest priority, while thanking customers for their patience and understanding during the operational disruption.
