The Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, has commenced the 2026 Rapid Response Three Crisis Response Exercise in Asaba, Delta State.
The five-day multi-agency exercise is designed to test Nigeria’s readiness to respond to complex emergencies and security threats.
It brings together security, emergency and other relevant agencies to assess coordination, communication, command and control, as well as rapid deployment capabilities.
Director of the Presidential Command and Control Centre, Rear Admiral Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, says this is the first time ONSA is conducting the crisis response exercise outside the Federal Capital Territory.
He says the exercise will conclude with an after-action review to identify lessons and areas for improvement in future operations.
Authorities have urged residents not to panic over the movement of security personnel, vehicles and emergency response teams, stressing that the activities are simulated.
The media has also been advised to rely on verified information when reporting activities connected with the exercise.
