Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has defended his administration’s performance, dismissing claims that his government has underperformed during its nearly three years in office.
Speaking at a cultural event, Nwifuru accused some critics of using social media to undermine his administration’s achievements ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The Governor says his administration has completed more than 500 kilometres of roads across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas, including roads connecting Ebonyi to neighbouring states and bridge projects.
He urged residents to reject what he described as politically motivated narratives aimed at misleading the public and discrediting the government’s performance.
Nwifuru also addressed political zoning and power distribution, saying efforts have been made to maintain equity and political stability within Izhi clan in Ebonyi North.
He says power has been balanced between the two kindreds in Izhi Land ahead of 2027 in the interest of equity and social justice.
The Governor urged residents to resist actions capable of creating division and disrupting the existing political arrangement.
