The Federal Government has called on development partners to align their interventions with Nigeria’s national development priorities to achieve greater impact and sustainable results.
Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, made the call during a meeting with officials of the Korea International Cooperation Agency, KOICA, ahead of the implementation of the KOICA-FAO 2026 Multi-Bilateral Agricultural Project.
Bagudu said development programmes should support Nigeria’s Agenda 2050 and target specific communities where their impact can be measured and replicated.
He also urged KOICA and the Food and Agriculture Organization, FAO, to integrate the project with existing government initiatives, including the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, to prevent duplication and strengthen coordination.
KOICA’s Senior Deputy Country Director, Baik Ki-Hyun, said the agricultural project will run from 2026 to 2030, with FAO responsible for implementation while KOICA oversees monitoring and evaluation.
