The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has continued his familiarisation tour of Area Commands with a visit to the Warri Area Command, where he paid courtesy visits to the Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III; the Ovie of Agbarha-Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Kingsley Emakpo Orereh, Igbi II; and the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Dr. Ogheneochuko Morris Eyekpimi-Egboboyen, Owhotemu II.

The visits were aimed at strengthening collaboration with traditional institutions and deepening community policing across Delta State.

The Commissioner commended the royal fathers for their continued support to the Nigeria Police Force and reiterated the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on strengthening collaboration with stakeholders to enhance grassroots policing through community partnerships.

The monarchs, in their separate remarks, welcomed the Commissioner and pledged their continued support towards sustaining peace and security within their respective kingdoms.

The familiarisation tour also featured an interactive engagement with officers and men of the Warri Area Command, community leaders and other stakeholders.

Addressing the officers, CP Oyeniyi charged them to uphold discipline, professionalism and integrity, remain courteous in their interactions with members of the public, respect human rights and comply strictly with the Force’s regulations.

He warned officers against conduct capable of tarnishing the image of the Nigeria Police Force, stressing that there is no room for impunity.

The Commissioner also cautioned personnel against violating the Force’s Social Media Policy, reminding them that their conduct, both online and offline, must always conform to the ethical standards and regulations of the Force.

CP Oyeniyi reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led and community-based policing and urged stakeholders to continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information, noting that effective policing and public safety can only be achieved through collective responsibility.
