Governor Diri Commends NSCDC For Sustaining Peace In Bayelsa

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for its collaboration with other security agencies in sustaining peace and security across the state.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, gave the commendation during the commissioning of a newly constructed quarter guard, photo stands, activation of a sick bay and the groundbreaking ceremony for an officers’ mess at the NSCDC State Headquarters in Yenagoa.

Governor Diri praised the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Matthew Palmer, for his leadership and efforts in improving the command’s operational capacity and infrastructure.

He noted that the projects would enhance the welfare of personnel and strengthen the agency’s ability to discharge its responsibilities effectively.

The governor also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace and protect lives and property.

In his welcome address, the Bayelsa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Matthew Palmer, said the projects were initiated to improve the working environment and welfare of officers and men of the command.

He expressed appreciation to the state government for its support and collaboration, which he said had contributed significantly to the success of the command’s operations.

Palmer also reiterated the commitment of the NSCDC to working closely with other security agencies to ensure continued peace and security in the state.

Military and paramilitary commanders who attended the event commended the NSCDC commandant for introducing initiatives that have strengthened the command.

They also pledged their continued collaboration with the Corps in addressing security challenges and promoting a safer environment for residents of Bayelsa State.
