United States authorities have announced enhanced security measures ahead of Wednesday’s FIFA World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina in Atlanta.
Officials say additional public safety operations have been put in place as thousands of supporters are expected to attend the highly anticipated match.
The Atlanta Police Department said the measures take into account the historical and political sensitivities surrounding fixtures between the two countries.
England will be aiming to end Argentina’s title defence and secure a place in their first FIFA World Cup final since 1966.
