Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged Christian leaders in the state to extend their support to President Bola Tinubu and mobilise their followers for the success of the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 general elections.
Oborevwori made the appeal when the Executive Committee of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Delta State, led by its Chairman, Bishop Abos Willie, paid him a special prayer visit at Government House, Asaba.
The Governor says his membership of the APC places a responsibility on him to work for President Tinubu’s re-election and the success of other candidates of the party.
He attributed his emergence as Governor in 2023 to the grace of God and prayers of Christian leaders and urged them to continue praying for the President, Delta State and the country.
Oborevwori also said ongoing economic reforms were beginning to strengthen the financial capacity of state and local governments, citing increased execution of roads, health facilities and other developmental projects.
He stressed the importance of responsible political participation by Christians, noting that churches should not completely distance themselves from the political process because politics affects every aspect of society.
Earlier, Bishop Abos Willie commended the Governor for his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, peace and development across Delta State.
The PFN leadership also offered prayers for the Governor, his administration and the country, seeking peace, wisdom and continued progress.
