Obi-Kwankwaso Movement Appoints Peter Ameh as National Director-General

The OK Movement, a political support platform promoting collaboration among supporters of Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi and his deputy, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has appointed former National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, Peter Ameh, as its National Director-General.

The movement says the appointment is part of efforts to strengthen nationwide mobilisation and expand its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general election.

National Convener of the movement, Jackie Wayas, announced the appointment in a statement, saying it was unanimously approved by the steering committee following consideration of Ameh’s experience in politics, democratic governance and public service.

Wayas described Ameh as an experienced political leader and democracy advocate whose previous leadership of IPAC and involvement in electoral reforms positioned him to provide strategic direction for the movement.

According to the group, Ameh will lead efforts to strengthen its organisational structure, deepen nationwide engagement and mobilise Nigerians around its vision for national transformation.

The movement said the appointment comes as it seeks to broaden its grassroots network and encourage greater democratic participation ahead of the elections.

It reaffirmed its commitment to national unity, accountability, good governance and inclusive leadership, while expressing confidence that Ameh’s appointment would help advance its political mobilisation efforts across the country.
