Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured the City Boy Movement of the National Assembly’s support, describing the organisation as a positive platform mobilising young Nigerians to strengthen democracy and promote the policies of President Bola Tinubu.
Akpabio gave the assurance while receiving members of the movement, led by its Director-General, Francis Shoga, at the National Assembly in Abuja.
He commended the group for its nationwide sensitisation campaign, saying its efforts would help deepen public understanding of government policies and encourage greater citizen participation in governance.
The Senate President urged members of the movement to remain peaceful, focused and law-abiding, stressing that the National Assembly would continue to support young people contributing positively to national development.
He also expressed confidence that President Tinubu’s economic diversification agenda would curb the illegal exploitation of Nigeria’s mineral resources while creating more opportunities for youth empowerment.
Earlier, Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Francis Shoga, said the organisation is committed to promoting a better understanding of the Federal Government’s policies and bridging the gap between citizens and government initiatives.
Also speaking, Senator Asuquo Ekpeyong, representing Cross River South, said one of the movement’s objectives is to mobilise 10 million votes for President Tinubu while expanding grassroots support for the administration across the country.
