The Akwa Ibom State Government has imposed a lifetime ban on three students from attending schools across the state for allegedly assaulting teachers and other school staff.

The affected students are Miracle Anietie Okon and Goodnews Anietie Okon of Ndikpo Grammar School, Ikot Obio Nko, Ibesikpo Asutan, and Elisha Essien James of Community Secondary School, Aka Offot, Uyo.

The State Ministry of Education, in a circular dated July 16, 2026, expressed concern over reports of students allegedly inviting touts to attack teachers within and outside school premises.

The Ministry has directed principals across the state to enforce the ban, while the affected schools are required to upload photographs of the students on the ANCOPPS platform to prevent them from gaining admission elsewhere.

The government says the measure is aimed at protecting teachers, other school staff and students, while enforcing discipline and maintaining a safe learning environment.

It also says details of the affected students will be circulated to schools across the state to ensure compliance with the ban.
