Barcelona forward Raphinha has withdrawn from the Brazil squad as a precaution after suffering swelling in his right thigh.
The Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed the development after the 29-year-old was substituted at half-time during Brazil’s 4-2 friendly victory over Australia on Tuesday.
A medical scan subsequently revealed a small muscle oedema in his right thigh.
Raphinha has previously experienced fitness problems with the same leg, missing four matches for Barcelona in April due to a hamstring injury sustained while on international duty.
He will miss Brazil’s third friendly against India on Saturday and will not be replaced in the squad.
The Barcelona forward has started the season strongly, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in eight appearances for his club.
