The National Sports Commission has approved key technical and operational measures ahead of the maiden National Intermediate Games, EKO 2026.
The measures cover athlete eligibility, talent identification, competition, accommodation, transportation, medical services and digital management of the Games.
The decisions were reached at a Joint Technical Committee meeting held at the Sam Shonibare Community Development Centre in Surulere, Lagos.
The meeting, chaired by the Commission’s Director General and Chairman of the Main Organising Committee, Bukola Olopade, also included inspections of competition and non-competition facilities.
Olopade says the Games are designed to create a structured pathway between grassroots participation and elite-level competition.
He says the event will also strengthen efforts to identify and develop emerging sporting talent across Nigeria.
