President Bola Tinubu has called for patriotic leadership and greater commitment to public service, saying Nigeria needs leaders who place national development above personal interests.
Tinubu made the call at a thanksgiving service in Yola, Adamawa State, to mark the 70th birthday of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, the President urged public officials and citizens to embrace service to the public as a core national value.
Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, described Mustapha as a model of integrity in public service and called for greater unity among political leaders in the Middle Belt.
As part of activities marking his birthday, Mustapha donated a library complex to Lutheran University Nigeria in Demsa, Adamawa State.
The former SGF urged young Nigerians not to allow their backgrounds to limit their ambitions, saying his own journey demonstrates that humble beginnings should serve as a motivation for success.
The facility, named Wesley Mustapha Library Complex in honour of his late father, was described by religious and government leaders as an investment in education that will benefit future generations.
