The Delta State Police Command has called for stronger collaboration and timely intelligence sharing among security agencies to effectively tackle emerging security threats.
Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, made the call when participants of the Advanced Defence Intelligence Officers Course, ADIOC 16/2026, of the Defence Intelligence College, Karu-Abuja, visited the Command as part of a Nigeria Study Tour.
The delegation, comprising 20 participants and senior staff of the College, was led by the Commandant, Commodore U.N. Bugaje.
Oyeniyi said the complex nature of contemporary security challenges requires security and intelligence agencies to work closely, share intelligence promptly and coordinate operations.
He also highlighted achievements recorded by the Delta State Police Command, citing intelligence-led policing and collaboration with other security agencies as effective tools in combating crime across the state.
The visiting officers later engaged the Commissioner and senior officers in discussions on policing, intelligence gathering, crime prevention and security operations.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with other security and intelligence agencies to protect lives and property and maintain peace across Delta State.
