President Bola Tinubu has met with the nation’s security chiefs to review the security situation across the country and assess ongoing strategies aimed at tackling insecurity.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, was attended by the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and heads of the various security agencies.
During the closed-door session, the security chiefs briefed the President on operations across the country and acknowledged improvements in the nation’s security situation, while resolving to build on the gains recorded.
They also emphasised the critical role of intelligence gathering in combating insecurity and agreed to strengthen collaboration with neighbouring countries to address cross-border security threats more effectively.
The meeting underscores the administration’s continued efforts to improve coordination among security agencies as part of broader measures to restore peace and stability nationwide.
It comes amid renewed efforts by the Federal Government to address insecurity, including the transmission of the State Police Bill to the National Assembly for legislative consideration.
