Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to embrace compassion, extend support to one another and create opportunities that promote peace, unity and prosperity across the country.

The First Lady made the call during a ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to commemorate three years of interventions and social welfare programmes under the Renewed Hope Initiative.

The event brought together beneficiaries, stakeholders and government officials to celebrate the impact of the initiative, which has implemented various empowerment and support programmes across the country over the past three years.

Among dignitaries present were the wife of the Senate President, Unoma Akpabio, wives of members of the National Assembly, wives of state governors, traditional rulers and other stakeholders.

In her keynote address, Senator Oluremi Tinubu highlighted the major achievements recorded by the Renewed Hope Initiative since its inception, noting that the programme has continued to improve the lives of women, children and vulnerable groups nationwide.

She reiterated her commitment to initiatives aimed at promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment and improved welfare for citizens.

Also speaking at the event, the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, commended the First Lady for her leadership and dedication to advancing the welfare of women and vulnerable persons.

Other speakers also praised the Renewed Hope Initiative for its contributions to social development and community empowerment across the country.

Beneficiaries of the programme expressed appreciation for the support received, noting that they were selected through a transparent process without political connections or lobbying.

They described the initiative as impactful and beneficial to many Nigerians in need of assistance.

The Renewed Hope Initiative, launched by the First Lady three years ago, is driven by the mantra, “Leave No Woman, Leave No Child Behind,” and continues to focus on programmes that promote inclusion, empowerment and improved livelihoods for vulnerable groups across Nigeria.
