President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to remain politically neutral during the 2027 general elections and intensify efforts to protect voters and ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process.
Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, disclosed this after a security meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Musa says the directive is aimed at ensuring that security agencies uphold their responsibilities throughout the electoral process and prevent political intimidation.
The Defence Minister also says the President directed security agencies to intensify operations to rescue people being held captive by terrorists and dismantle terrorist camps across the country.
Musa also expressed appreciation to the President for the recent salary increase for members of the Armed Forces.
He says the administration remains committed to improving the welfare of military personnel and ensuring that no member of the Armed Forces is left behind.
