Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi is set to stand trial after French prosecutors confirmed proceedings over a rape allegation made against the Paris Saint-Germain defender.
The case stems from an accusation by a 24-year-old woman, who alleged that Hakimi raped her at his home in Paris in 2023.
French authorities opened a preliminary investigation in March 2023, with an investigating judge later ordering that the case proceed to trial in February 2026.
Reports in the French media indicate that Hakimi recently failed in an appeal seeking to have the case dismissed.
The 27-year-old defender has consistently denied the allegation since the investigation began.
The development comes as Hakimi prepares to lead Morocco in their second match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Scotland.
No date has been announced for the commencement of the trial.
