Turkish Airlines Pilot Dies Mid-Flight, Emergency Landing in New York

Date:

A Turkish Airlines pilot tragically died after collapsing mid-flight, prompting an emergency landing in New York.

The incident occurred on flight TK204, which had taken off from Seattle on Tuesday evening.

According to airline spokesman Yahya Ustun, the pilot, aged 59, collapsed during the flight. Despite efforts to administer first aid, the crew—comprising another pilot and a co-pilot—decided to land the Airbus A350 immediately. Unfortunately, the pilot succumbed to his condition before the aircraft could reach the ground.

Ustun noted that the pilot had been with Turkish Airlines since 2007 and had passed a medical examination in March, which revealed no health issues.
