PROFILING OF COMMERCIAL BUSES TO COMBAT CRIME BEGINS IN 2025, WIKE SAYS

Date:

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will initiate profiling of all commercial buses in Abuja by January 2025 as part of a security drive led by the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS).

FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike announced the measure during the Renewed Hope Youth Empowerment Programme, where he also presented 80 new cars to beneficiaries.

The profiling initiative aims to curb kidnapping and “one-chance” robberies within Abuja. Wike emphasized that only duly profiled buses will be permitted to operate in the FCT.
