The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has pledged transparency and fairness in selecting 10,000 beneficiaries for its Youth Internship Scheme. NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, emphasized the commitment during a meeting with leaders of ethnic nationalities and youth groups in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to Dr. Ogbuku, selected youths will be attached to various organizations for a year to gain valuable skills. Beyond the internship, the NDDC has introduced the Holistic Opportunity Projects of Engagement (HOPE), providing additional opportunities for Niger Delta youth empowerment.
Ambassador Jonathan Lopkobiri, President of the Ijaw Youth Council, commended the NDDC’s role in stabilizing the Niger Delta through such initiatives. Similarly, Comrade Eniwake Orogun, President of the Isoko National Youth Assembly Worldwide, praised NDDC’s continuous engagement with youth as a key feature of its current administration.
