Presidential Panel Review Social Investment Programmes With New ID Verification Measures

Special Presidential Panel on Social Investment Programmes has met in Abuja to review progress on direct benefit transfers following the introduction of alternate identity verification measures.

Such measures include Bank Verification Numbers and Voter’s Cards, for beneficiaries of the National Social Register without National Identity Numbers.

In a statement, the Director of Information, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mallam Mohammed Manga said the panel also engaged the National Bureau of Statistics, National Directorate of Employment, and National Youth Service Corps.

This according to the statement is to facilitate deliberation on the registration process for the Presidential Youth Unemployment Benefit Scheme to enable implementation.
