President Bola Tinubu has initiated the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway Project, which would transform the country’s transportation system.
Starting from the Ahmadu Bello Way on Victoria Island, the 700-kilometer route will connect nine Coastal States and important highway routes, promoting the connection between the North and South.
President Tinubu also initiated the design phase for the Sokoto-Badagry Highway and the Enugu-Abakaliki-Ogoja Road, covering a combined distance of over 1,400km.
The President’s visit to Lagos marks the commencement of various developmental projects, including the rehabilitation of 330 roads and bridges across the country.
Speaking at the various project sites the President commended the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, and Hitech Construction Company for their diligent efforts in advancing infrastructure.
President Tinubu underlined the project’s potential to generate jobs, boost economic growth, and enhance accessibility while stressing its importance in setting the framework for future development.
