Spanish Giants, Barcelona have sacked Manager Xavi Hernández after three years in charge of the team.
The Legendary midfielder will conclude his Managerial stint at the Club this Sunday, as Barcelona bids farewell to their coach with an Away fixture against Sevilla.
The decision to terminate Xavi’s contract, which was slated to last until 2025, was conveyed to the 44-year-old during a meeting with Club President, Joan Laporta and Sporting Director Deco earlier today.
Acknowledging Xavi’s contributions since assuming the Managerial reins in 2021, Barcelona expressed their appreciation in an official statement.
While Xavi guided Barcelona to the league title last season, the team currently trails rivals Real Madrid by 12 points in the standings with only one match left in the season.
Their Champions League campaign also ended in disappointment at the quarter-final stage against PSG.
Over the course of 141 games as Barcelona’s Head Coach, Xavi secured victory in 89 matches, reflecting a sixty-three percent win ratio.
