President Bola Tinubu has joined Nigerians, the chiefs of Ile-Ife, and the global Yoruba community in celebrating the 50th birthday of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, the Ojaja II.
The President highlighted the Ooni’s remarkable leadership and wisdom since ascending the throne at the age of 41, praising his pivotal role in preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people, particularly in Ile-Ife, known as “The Source.”
Acknowledging Oba Ogunwusi’s sense of duty and knowledge as the traditional ruler of Ile-Ife and spiritual leader of the Yoruba people, President Tinubu lauded the Ooni’s efforts as Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria. He recognized the monarch’s contribution as a unifying figure and a strong advocate for peace, religious tolerance, and national unity.
President Tinubu also commended the Ooni’s passion for youth and women empowerment through education and entrepreneurship, noting his philanthropic efforts and unwavering commitment to uplifting those in need across Nigeria.
As the Ooni of Ife reached this important milestone, the President offered prayers for the continued success and prosperity of Oba Ogunwusi’s reign, which continues to benefit both the people of Ife and the nation at large.
