NDIS 2024 SET TO CONNECT DIASPORA INVESTORS WITH LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS

Date:

The Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) is set to return for its seventh edition this year. The hybrid event will take place from the 5th to 7th of November at the Presidential Villa. This summit has grown significantly since its inception, offering a platform for diaspora investors to connect with local entrepreneurs and boost economic growth in Nigeria.

At a recent press briefing, the Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, emphasized the importance of the summit in driving job creation, fostering innovation, and diversifying Nigeria’s economy. She noted that the event has become a vital tool in mobilizing resources and investments, especially in sectors that have a profound impact on national development.

Dr. Dabiri-Erewa also highlighted the partnerships that have been formed through the NDIS, which have contributed significantly to the Nigerian economy. One notable achievement is the establishment of a software engineering campus in Nigeria, a project that was made possible through collaboration with the commission. She also acknowledged the support of the President, members of the National Assembly, especially the Chairmen and members of the Senate and House Committees on Diaspora, the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa, the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council, and various other public and private organizations that have played key roles in the summit’s success.

The Coordinator of NDIS, Dr. Badewa Adejugbe-Williams, who joined the briefing virtually, reiterated the summit’s significance, noting its ability to mobilize resources that contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth. She added that the NDIS has proven its potential in strengthening ties between the diaspora and their home country, paving the way for substantial economic development and growth.

With expectations high for the 2024 edition, NDIS is poised to continue its legacy of connecting diaspora investors with local opportunities and driving forward Nigeria’s development agenda.
