President Bola Tinubu has established a Presidential Committee on Climate Action and Green Economic Solutions to oversee all policies and programs concerning climate action and green economic development.
President Tinubu has appointed his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action.
The Committee, led by the President, will include Mr. Balarabe Lawal, the Minister of Environment, serving as the Vice Chairman.
Meanwhile, according to a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Segun Imohiosen, the Committee’s obligation is to streamline coordination, promote a whole-of-government approach to climate-action programs, establish efficient governance architecture, and ensure alignment with the President’s vision, particularly in implementing the renewed hope agenda on climate action.
