Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has restated his administration’s dedication to improving the welfare of workers in the state while advancing the aviation sector.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Aviation Village at Victor Attah International Airport, Pastor Eno highlighted the project’s role in addressing the housing needs of Ibom Air workers who currently commute long distances to work.
“The Aviation Village will enhance efficiency, reduce stress, and cut commuting costs for aviation workers. I am committed to ensuring its completion within 12 months,” the governor stated, urging contractors to take advantage of the dry season to meet the deadline.
The Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Otuekong Bassey, pledged effective supervision to ensure timely delivery, while the CEO of Ibom Air, Captain Mfon Udom, commended the initiative, noting its potential to create employment opportunities and improve workers’ lives.
Local government chairmen from Nsit Atai, Uruan, and Okobo also praised the governor for addressing workers’ needs and prioritizing community development.
