The Oklahoma City Thunder have been crowned 2025 NBA champions following a 103–91 win over the Indiana Pacers in a thrilling Game 7 finale.
The victory marks the Thunder’s first NBA title since relocating from Seattle in 2008. The franchise previously won its lone championship in 1979 as the Seattle SuperSonics.
Game 7 saw a major turning point in the opening quarter when Pacers star guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered an Achilles injury. He was visibly emotional as he was carried off the court, delivering a heavy blow to Indiana’s title hopes.
Indiana held a narrow one-point lead at halftime, but Oklahoma City surged ahead in the second half, outscoring the Pacers 56–43 to secure the win.
Thunder guard and regular season MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers with 29 points and 12 assists, delivering a dominant performance to cap off a historic season.
