Nigeria’s Pursuit for First Medal at Paris 2024 Falters with Ofili and Oborududu’s Results

Team Nigeria’s quest for their first medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games encountered a setback on Tuesday night due to disappointing results from Favour Ofili and Blessing Oborududu.

In the women’s two hundred metres final, Ofili finished sixth with a time of twenty-two point two four seconds.

American Sprinter, Gabby Thomas, won the event, while Julie Alfred, claimed second place.

In women’s 68 kg freestyle wrestling, Oborududu lost three-zero in the bronze medal match to Japan’s Nonoka Ozaki.

With no medals yet secured at the Paris Games, Team Nigeria’s hopes now rest on Tobi Amusan, the women’s hundred metres hurdles record holder, who begins her campaign today.
