Nigerian table-tennis stalwart, Olufunke Oshonaike, renowned for her seven Olympic appearances, has been chosen as one of thirty athletes set to participate in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes Commission Election during the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Reacting to her selection, Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh hailed Oshonaike’s candidacy as monumental for Nigeria, emphasizing that she will effectively represent the interests and voices of Nigerian athletes on the global stage.
Senator Enoh remarked that Oshonaike will proudly fly the Nigerian flag internationally and advocate for the rights, welfare, and values crucial to athletes worldwide.
