Borno State Government Confirms El-Kanemi Warriors’ Home Ground for CAF Interclub Competition at Moshood Abiola Stadium

Borno State Government has formally communicated that the 2024 President Federation Cup Champions, El-Kanemi Warriors, will make the Moshood Abiola National Stadium their home ground for the CAF Interclub Competition.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh, during a Media Parley with Sports Writers in Abuja yesterday.

El-Kanemi Warriors gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League and triumphed over Abia Warriors in the President Federation Cup Final to emerge as champions.

They will face Dadje FC of Benin Republic in the first preliminary round of the competition between 13th-15th September, with the second leg scheduled between 20th-22nd September 2024.

CAF officially conducted the draw for the preliminary stages of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2024/25 Season on Thursday, 11th July, at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

A total of 52 Clubs from 41 African Countries participated in the draw of the competition, currently held by Egyptian Giants Zamalek SC, who won it for the second time last season.

The Preliminary stages of the CAF Confederation Cup will be divided into two rounds. The 1st Preliminary Round will involve 40 matches. The 2nd Preliminary Round, which will consist of 32 games, will determine the 16 clubs that will be drawn into the four groups of the group stages of the competition.
