Abia Warriors of Umuahia and El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri have secured their spots in the final of this year’s President Federation Cup in the men’s category.
Abia Warriors advanced to the final following a tense four- three penalty shootout victory over Kano Pillars at the Lafia City Stadium.
The match had remained goalless after 90 minutes of regulation play.
Former champions El-Kanemi Warriors also progressed to the final with a five-four victory on penalties against surprise semi-finalists Kebbi United. Like the first semi-final, their match also ended goalless after regular time.
The final showdown between Abia Warriors and El-Kanemi Warriors is scheduled to take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on 29th June.
The winner will not only lift the prestigious trophy but also earn a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
In the women’s competition, the semi-finals are set for Sunday, 23rd June. Remo Stars Ladies will face Naija Ratels in Enugu, while Delta Queens will take on Rivers Angels in Awka.
