Super Falcons Head Coach Justine Madugu says his team is mentally, psychologically, and tactically primed for today’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-final clash against Zambia’s Copper Queens.
Speaking during Thursday’s pre-match press conference, Madugu affirmed that the technical team has extensively analysed the Zambian squad, fine-tuning both attacking and defensive approaches to neutralise their threat.
“We’ve done our homework,” he said. “The players are focused, and we’ve studied Zambia’s structure — their strengths, weaknesses, and individual tendencies. We are ready.”
Nigeria, nine-time African champions, will face the rising Zambian side at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca from 5pm in a match that could reshape the pecking order of women’s football on the continent.
It will be the fourth WAFCON meeting between both nations. While Nigeria dominated the early encounters with a combined 10-0 scoreline, Zambia stunned the Falcons with a 1-0 victory in the 2022 third-place playoff.

With a semi-final spot and World Cup qualification within reach, today’s showdown promises fireworks.
