Morocco have been dealt a significant setback ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after two key players were ruled out of the tournament through injury.
Defender and forward have both withdrawn from the squad, prompting changes to the Atlas Lions’ World Cup roster.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation confirmed that and have been called up as replacements.
Aguerd has been sidelined since early March after undergoing surgery for a groin injury, while 24-year-old Ezzalzouli suffered an injury during Morocco’s recent international friendly against Norway.
The injuries come as a major blow to Morocco’s preparations, with both players expected to play important roles in the team’s World Cup campaign.
