Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi, has been named the new Technical Adviser for Lobi Stars of Makurdi, with immediate effect. This strategic move is part of the club’s efforts to rejuvenate its approach and improve on-field performance.
Amokachi’s appointment follows the dismissal of Coach Eugene Agagbe, who was relieved of his duties after failing to meet the club’s five-match win target, securing only one victory and suffering three losses. Additionally, all backroom staff have been dismissed and invited to reapply if they wish to continue with the club.
The new Technical Adviser officially resumed his role on Monday, leading his first training session with the Makurdi-based team. Amokachi emphasized his role as a leader, friend, and confidant, expressing his commitment to fostering a strong, brotherly bond within the team.
He expressed appreciation to the club’s Board and the Benue State Government for entrusting him with the position and pledged to dedicate himself to turning around the team’s fortunes ahead of their upcoming match against Niger Tornadoes. With the team currently holding a record of three losses, one draw, and one win, Amokachi vowed to focus on improving results, with a particular emphasis on enhancing player welfare to boost performance.
