Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement in principle to appoint Andoni Iraola as their new manager following successful negotiations.
The development comes days after the club parted ways with Arne Slot following a review of the team’s season.
Iraola emerged as Liverpool’s preferred candidate after guiding AFC Bournemouth to a sixth-place finish and securing the club’s first-ever qualification for European competition.
According to reports, Liverpool moved quickly to secure the services of the 43-year-old Spaniard after identifying him as the leading choice to take charge at Anfield.
Other managers reportedly considered for the role included Sebastian Hoeneß and Pierre Sage, although neither was believed to be as strongly favoured as Iraola.
