Liverpool Extends Lead at Premier League Summit with 3-1 Win Over Leicester

Date:

Premier League leaders Liverpool extended their advantage at the top of the table with a 3-1 comeback win over struggling Leicester City, moving seven points clear of their closest rivals.

Leicester, who had lost five of their last seven matches, stunned Anfield by taking the lead in the sixth minute through a clinical finish by Jordan Ayew.

Liverpool faced a frustrating first half, hitting the post and crossbar, but eventually turned the game around with two goals, one at the end of the first half and another early in the second.

Mohamed Salah then sealed the victory for Liverpool, scoring his 19th goal of the season to make it 3-1.

With Liverpool set to face West Ham on Sunday, they have the chance to extend their lead to 10 points, while nearest rivals Chelsea, who don’t play until the following day, will be hoping to keep pace.
