INEC Extends CVR Exercise To 9th June

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has announced the extension of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Edo and Ondo States to Sunday 9th June 2024.

The exercise which was earlier scheduled to end Thursday 6th June was extended to 9th June after reviewing the exercise.

National Commissioner & Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr. Sam Olumekun disclosed this in a statement.

Mr. Olumekun added that more machines will be deployed to areas identified to have peculiar needs such as difficult terrain or communal issues.

He explained that the exercise is progressing well in the two States, with a cumulative total of 120,458 new voters registered as of Monday 3rd June,

The Commission further called on eligible voters to seize the opportunity of the extension to register, transfer or correct personal information on their PVCs as provided by law, warning “No further extension will be granted by the Commission”.
